His salon, Barney Martin Hair Salon, was voted one of the best salons in the world by US Harpers Bazaar, and has been responsible for producing some of the best hair in Sydney. “THE BIGGEST MISTAKE MOST WOMEN MAKE WITH THEIR HAIR IS…

…over styling and over application of product. There is nothing worse than crunchy hair. Embrace its natural movement and texture. I am all about perfect undone, done hair. It’s best to work with what you’ve got and trust an expert.

BARNEY HAS BECOME ONE OF THE MOST RECOGNISBLE FACES IN THE HAIRDRESSING INDUSTRY

THE BEST AND FASTEST WAY TO TRANSFORM YOUR HAIR FAST IS…

…to scrunch some R+Co High Dive Moisture and Shine Creme into the mid lengths and ends of the hair to give the hair a sexy textured look. You can also use this product for a glossy up-do.

THE THREE HAIR PRODUCTS EVERY WOMEN NEEDS:

1. GHD Hair Dryer

A good quality, yet affordable hairdryer which will make a huge difference to your blowdrying.

GHD AIR PROFESSIONAL HAIRDRYER

2. A Tangle Teezer

A must for everyone. This gives you effortless detangling with no strain or breakage to the hair.

3. R+Co Outerspace Flexible Hairspray

This little beauty is perfect for emergency hair touch ups.

THE QUICKEST AND MOST FLATTERING STYLE THAT EVERY WOMEN CAN MASTER IS…

…a slicked back pony tail. This is great for second day hair and for when it’s windy and you want to stay looking groomed.

THE ONE HAIR PRODUCT I RECENTLY DISCOVERED THAT NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT:

Having just returned from the Global Creative Council educator sessions in New York I could not be more excited about the new R+Co Cactus Texturizing Shampoo. Wash your hair with this and there is no need to apply any other products! SO revolutionary.

THE ONE HAIR-REVITALISING TRICK YOU MAY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF IS…

…before you go to bed, tie your damp hair in a twisted top knot, and when you get up in the morning unleash your hair and you’ve got beautiful textured movement.

THE ONE HAIR RULE I LIKE TO BREAK IS…

…don’t wash your hair too often. From my experience the natural oils condition the hair amazingly. That being said nobody likes greasy hair – so it’s a fine line.

THE FOUR CELEB HAIRSTYLES ANYONE CAN PULL OFF:

1. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

This is a really versatile mid length bob, which works with all face shapes and hair types and is easy to style. And Rosie’s colour is amazing!

ALEXA IS TOTAL HAIR GOALS

2. Alexa Chung

This effortless, shorter, shaggier cut is a bit rock ‘n’ roll, but still feminine and pretty, great for a wash and wear girl, with minimal product and styling time.

3. Caroline De Maigret/Anna Karina/Jane Birkin

I’m having a thing for the French right now. A heavy or blunt fringe which skims the eyes looks so sexy yet done. A fringe gives you a style without needing to ‘style’ your hair.

4. Sienna Miller

This shorter length bob just works. Not suited for really curly or very, very fine hair, but everything in between you can totally work this style.”

My curls never seem to hold if I don’t douse my hair in spray, but then it just looks stiff and crunchy – any suggestions?

Hey Taylor, you can try R+Co Twister. It’s a bit like a primer for your hair. Simply add a bit to your palms and run through damp hair. You’ll get moisturized, soft, defined curls with NO crunch!

I’ve heard countless times not to wash your hair too often, but my hair gets so greasy so fast. I feel the need to wash my hair every single day, which I know isn’t good. Any way to overcome this?

Dry Shampoo! We love R+Co Death Valley or you can get some cheaper alternatives at chemists…

I’ll throw a cute hat on if my hair is starting to look greasy, just to avoid a wash.

I love my tangle teezer! I have also tried other brands of this type of brush, but none have lived up to the original
