When hybrid beauty buys first hit the shelves we couldn’t help but get excited. A cheek, lip and eye trio you say? Send it our way. The idea of cutting mirror time in half or mastering the art of pampering during peak hour traffic is the new multi-tasking mantra. Yet with so many do-alls, super-serums and tints for here, there and everywhere, deciphering the best beauty buys can be a puzzling at best.

Our favourite new small-screen convicts, however, seem to have double-duty beauty down pat. From Morello’s pouty pigments to Red’s crème blush and the economising of dry shampoo; the Orange Is The New Black girls may not have their freedom, but Piper and the gang certainly know how to work beige and make a little go a very long way.

1. For the cheeks and eyes

The Nars Multiple has been doing double-duty for years, arguably the pioneer of pretty, this little miracle stick will always come in handy. Try using the new Nars Multiple in Na Pali Coast as a base eye shadow in the corners of your eyes. The metallic sheen will open your eyes and freshen up your look.

2. For your base

To avoid looking like you’ve woken up on the wrong side of the tracks, opt for a multi-purpose illuminator and concealer. Benefit’s Watts Up! Soft Focus Highlighter will liven up your look and sunny up even the gloomiest disposition. This one’s a lifesaver on long haul flights.

3. For your skin

The French have been using this miracle elixir for years, so it’s about time we cottoned on. Micellar water uses tiny coal particles to lift dirt, grime and even eye makeup from the skin. A backstage go-to, micellar water cleansers require no water upon application. Simply swipe with a makeup pad and go! Our pick? Bioderma Sensibio H20 is a French pharmacie favourite.

4. For your hair

Get gritty with a dry shampoo-meets-volumiser hybrid. Keep it handbag friendly when the night calls for that last minute joosh-up in the ladies room. Klorane Dry Shampoo is made from oat milk and adds just the right amount of grit to keep you up all night long, without the harsh drying out.

5. For your senses

Few body oils double as a scent, hair serum and skin saver. Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi Usage Dry Oil is a cult favourite, and for good reason. Boasting subtle notes of sweet almond and macadamia nut and a proven remedy for even the most bothersome of stretchy marks, this miracle elixir is enriched with Vitamin E and six different plant oils. Daily use will leave your hair and skin feeling lush and supple.

6. For your lips and cheeks

Opt for a highly pigmented lip stain that doubles as a blush or cheek tint, while being equally hydrating and healthy for your lips. Josie Maran’s Argan Infinity Lip and Cheek Creamy Oil boasts a subtle honeycomb hue and offers optimum hydration to prevent any potential chapping.
