Get Party Ready with Erin, Bambi and Zippora

It’s not every day you get three models - who also happen to be friends - in a room together - as they swap beauty secrets and prep for a party. Sigourney got to hang out with Bambi Norwood-Blyth, Erin Heatherton and Zippora Seven as they got ready for the launch of the new Impulse Fragrances, for which they are the new faces. She soaked up a little beauty intel and managed to pick up a few clever tips along the way.

We are high up in a glamorous suite at Sydney’s The Darling Hotel…
and it’s all systems go. The countdown is on to the Impulse Fragrances Media Launch and the girls still aren’t dressed. A bad traffic run and several TV interviews this morning and they’re now behind schedule. Despite still being their dressing gowns, they seem remarkably relaxed. MTV is playing and the sunset is sending shards of golden light through the blinds

THE FANTASTIC TRIO ARE THE NEW FACES OF IMPULSE

Bambi, Erin and Zippy were chosen to be faces…

because they are actually friends in real life and are fun and #impulsive. Such is the new catchcry of the daily fragrance brand Impulse which was a favourite of many Aussie girls growing up. The once super-sweet scents have had a sophisticated makeover with women’s fragranceperfumer Ann Gottlieb (the nose behind Marc Jacobs Daisy and Dior’s J’adore) and a grown-up new look. This is the first time the girls have been together since the campaign shoot they shot in New York and you can tell that they’re happy to see each other. They fool around and joke together as they take their turns in the chair with makeup artist Max May and hair stylist Richard Kavanagh.

The conversation turns to Bambi’s epic eyebrows…

“I used to wax them when I was younger, they never stopped growing though, they’re back to their natural shape now. I have a few make up artists that I let do my eyebrows,” she says smiling at Max, who’s doing her makeup.

“I just pluck them out and thin them…

so that they just lie really flat,” says Max. “I think that’s kind of important when you have a thick brow. You want it to look wide but you don’t want it to sit off the skin…So you just pluck hairs in behind,” he explains. “So you don’t pluck from the outer edge of the brow, you pluck through the middle.”

“I love Bambi’s eyebrows…

I don’t think I’ve touched mine since I met her,” chimes in Erin, taking a delicate sip of her water so as not to ruin her lipstick. The Victoria’s Secret model was originally scouted in Miami but now flits between US cities working for the likes of Karl Lagerfeld and John Galliano.

RICHARD KAVANAGH GIVES BAMBI SOME GLAMOROUS WAVES

Bambi heads over to Richard to get her hair tonged.

“There’s a Marc Jacobs product [Brow Tamer Grooming Gel] I use on them,” says Bambi, when we ask how she keeps them in check. “It’s really great, and it doesn’t really comb your eyebrows separately, it just puts them into a nice shape, and it’s not so gel-y, so it’s not like you’re wearing gel and they’re really static – it’s natural, kind of like paw paw in your eyebrows…”
“I love paw paw,” says Zippy.
“I use Paw paw on my cheeks too,” Bambi adds. “And Lanolips also as a highlighter on my cheeks, on my lips, and my cuticles for flying, it’s really good to be hydrated.”

“I put a sheer dewy highlighter cream on my cheekbones…

and the inside corner of the eye with my finger,” says Erin. “Instant coffee!”
“What else do you love?” I ask Erin.
“Tart cheek stain in Tipsy… Fresh tinted lip balm in Rose… Aesop Sage,” she says.
“Richard, tell us about Erin’s hair tonight?”
“She’s got really curly hair! Oh it’s mega curly,” laughs Richard. “So we stretched it out, and then we just added some bend and put it in a pony. It’s sort of what most people would call Victoria’s Secret hair – which is appropriate!”

ZIPPY FIGHTS BACK HER COLD WITH MANUKA HONEY

Zippy has been very quiet.

I go over to chat to her and it turns out she’s really sick with a cold. You’d never know, she’s being such a trooper. She calls some hot water and lemon up from room service and takes a jar of Manuka honey out of her bag, stirring it through the drink. “This stuff is the best,” she says quietly, her scratchy little voice barely audible over the music. “It has to be the real New Zealand Manuka honey – I looked everywhere until I could find the good stuff.”

The clock is ticking…

The publicist for Impulse reminds us that we have five minutes. The press launch is about to start and there are a bunch of impatient media at the venue waiting for their girls to appear.
The models pile into the bedroom to get into their outfits, where stylist Marina Didovich is at the ready. Zippora wears a Sass & Bidegold lace dress – perfect for her free-spirited style. Ever the Victoria’s Secret bombshell, Erin rocks a white mesh and bandage-dress by Nicholas and Bambi looks super sophisticated in a black suit by Neo Dia.

“I feel like it’s very suity-suity…do you reckon it’s a bit like…” she trails off, unsure. Marina swoops in with an incredible gold and pearl neck piece by Ryan Storer.

“Try it with this,” says the stylist, securing it on Bambi before standing back to admire the three of glamorous girls.

And with that the call comes that the cars are downstairs. We take a lift down to the basement (the ‘celebrity exit’ to elude the Paparazzi] and climb into a chauffer-driven black Mercedes and race to the venue, Angel & Ash. As the girls step into the restaurant amid applause and the flash of social photographers they turn it on and look every bit the uber models that they are.
