In a bid to disguise the eye bags and crows feet caused by late nights spent feeding Lulu, Sigourney stumbled across the new NoTox patchesfrom the new SOS range, and was pleasantly surprised to find the sticky patches actually made her look less tired. Save Our Skin by Innoxa asked her to make a video about her experience, flying her (and Lulu) to Mebourne to do it. Here’s what she thought…

“I really started noticing a few more lines around my eyes after Luella. I guess baby number two has to take some toll on your face! Since I was still breastfeeding at the time, I was on the look out from products that didn’t contain a long list of chemicals, yet I have always been a big fan of cosmeceuticals and proven ingredients – so it can be tricky to find an eye cream that will give you the best of both worlds. Around that time INNOXA’s new Save Our Skin cosmeceutical range landed on my desk and I was instantly drawn to their unique NoTox patches.

The sticky under eye patches contain concentrated “microstructures” made from 100% hyaluronic acid (a key ingredient for nixing dryness and crepiness), which are quite pointy. They are a little prickly when you first apply them, but I kind of like it – it feels like it’s doing something. I gently press down on the patches as I apply them- which I’m sure helps the hyaluronic acid penetrate. By morning – the pointy bits have dissolved. You’re supposed to apply them three times a week to see a difference, So, I decide to give it a red-hot-go.

A month or two later I notice that my parched, crumpled eyes do seem, well, just fresher than before. I look less tired. I give the feedback to Innoxa, who tell me they want a beauty expert to explain how to use them for a video they are putting in Priceline – so they ask me to come to Melbourne to film it. Naturally I bring my little sidekick, Lulu. Thankfully she’s a dream on the plane and we have a pretty good sleep the night before.

SIGOURNEY IS A BIG FAN OF INNOXA’S NEW SOS RANGE
SIGOURNEY PUTTING THE INNOXA NOTOX PATCHES TO THE TEST

On the day of shooting it’s a typical chilly Melbourne winter day. As the set is constructed, the crew warm ourselves up with coffee and delicious bacon and egg paninis. We go through a rack of clothes I’ve bought with me, settling on one of my old faithfuls – a classic black Prada dress, followed by a second more casual look – Seed Jeans and a Bonds Tee.

I bound into the makeup chair with Lulu on my lap – happy to be working with hair and makeup artist Belinda Zollo who looks after Jessica Mauboy and did my makeup the night I hosted her fragrance launch. We have a ball swapping notes about our favourite products and getting Lulu to giggle.

It’s time to start. In contrast to the videos I film at home, this is a full scale production with a film crew of at least four guys. There are some pretty impressive cameras and mic equipment that I’m seriously coveting for my videos. We take several different camera angles and I chat through my experience. The day whizzes by in an instant.

Luckily, Elisa, the PR & Communications Manager is a lovely mum herself so she occupies Lulu for the duration of the shoot. By the end of the day she’s beaming, having received so many cuddles from lovely girls on the marketing team. A week or so later, a very pro-looking video lands on my dropbox. I love it – it’s very slick and explains the NoTox patches perfectly.

After a few months when you noticed results, did you continue using them? If so, for how long?

I like that you said they have a "prickly" feeling when you use them… Love when you can actually feel a product working

Did you have to moisturise any extra when using them?
