    I’m shocked you actually said "rinse with cold water to close the pores" pores don’t open and close. There’s no muscle attached to open and close them. Beauty myth.

      Hi Cat, Thanks for picking this up. I was actually told this by a facialist but upon further investigation, you’re absolutely right, it’s a common misconception that pores open and close. This is because washing with warm water or steaming your skin will help remove dirt and sebum from the pores and if you rinse (typically with with cold water) it can make pores appear smaller, as if they have closed.
