We all say this in jest, it’s saved us from many a pasty emergency. Some even say it’s saved them from breaking a sweat: If you can’t tone it, (faux) tan it (yay to that). But, in an interview promoted on PR queen Roxy Jacenko’s Instagram with 9Honey, she reveals the beauty product very literally saved her life.

‘It was just lucky I was rigorously washing off my spray tan, which is why I noticed it,’ she said. ‘When I found the lump and got out of the shower, I asked [my daughter] Pixie to feel it as I was a little confused as to what it actually was. ‘Her instant reaction was “Eugggh, mum!”’

The 36-year-old mother-of-two was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year and is undergoing radiation therapy at one of Sydney’s Genesis Cancer Care clinics.

Spookily, Roxy told us last year that, ‘I feel most beautiful with a spray tan and a great wash and blow. It’s simple but makes you feel fresh and – after a hell of a week – alive!’ She revealed that she has a weekly spray tan with Deanna from Mobile Spray Tanning Australia. ‘She comes to my home for a late evening appointment.’

Beauty has saved us a time or two, but this really takes the cake.
