Elements Day Spa, Darwin

The original Elements Day Spa in Darwin’s West Lane Arcade is still up-and-running, despite a second opening nearby in the resort’s busy Waterfront area. This is a busy salon which is ideally placed for the busy shopper or office worker keen to fit a treatment in during their lunch hour.

It’s worth checking out the regular seasonal special offer packages such as the lovely current offering, the Tropical Summer Special. This combines a relaxing Swedish body massage with a sumptuous and soothing hydrating facial – and all for $125 (for a total of eighty minutes).

The massage is the king of treatments here, the signature massage, is particular, is well-loved. This is a blend of Swedish and circulatory strokes with Dermalogica products and comes in at around $140.

There are also plenty of tailored packages to choose from and which would make great gifts for friends and family who find it difficult to indulge themselves. The Bridal Package, the Rejuvenation package for stressed out career types, and the Pampering Package contains cleverly-mixed oils and treatments designed to de-stress.

The Vichy shower is one of the Day Spa’s popular treatments and can be added in to any package. It involves lying on a shallow wet massage bed and having warm water poured over you which then drains off underneath. As well as massage and hot and cold stone therapy, both Elements salons venture a bit more into cosmetic treatments than many others. This includes make-up & tanning sessions, waxing & tinting (for men too), eyelash extensions and even ‘cosmetic injectables’ (the latter performed by a visiting doctor).
