We’ve all heard at some point the wonders that aloe vera has on treating sunburns as well as other skin benefits, but did you know that it could also help with your eyebrows? Yes, you heard right. Say goodbye to sparse looking or over-plucked brows, we’ve got a quick and easy natural remedy that will have your eyebrow game off the charts. Beauticate writer, Maria, gave it a go and (really) it worked…

Aloe vera is brimmed to the fullest with rich minerals and vitamins (such as A, C, E, B1, etc.) that are essential for hair growth. Proteolytic enzymes are also present which repairs dead skin cells, hydrates and strengthens hair follicles. Not to mention that this amazing plant also increases blood circulation, another must for the hair growth process. So, I was super keen to give it a go. I have dark eyebrows (I’m of Filipino descent), but they are bit sparse and I’m always looking for ways to grow them. I came across this natural method and, to be honest, I didn’t actually expect it to work. But, I’m always willing to give it a go. To my amazement, it does actually kinda work! Now, I’m not talking three hairs to 300,00… But, I can vouch that I definitely had a few sprouting hairs of new growth after doing the below method for a month. My larger plan is to do it for a year and see what happens… so watch this space!

Okay, so how exactly am I going to get fuller and thicker Bambi(ish)-esque brows you ask? Just as it is with all things good, it’ll take time so don’t expect an overnight transformation. This is an extra routine to add to your nightly beauty ritual, but I promise it’ll be worth it.

  1. Simply cut open an aloe leaf and with a clean mascara brush, dip it in and apply to the brows.
  2. Leave on for 30 minutes (or overnight) then wash off with lukewarm water.
  3. Add an extra element that will further help you in the quest for perfect brows, mix 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel with 3 tablespoons of castor oil (an ingredient that been used to help with hair growth for ages).
  4. Do this one daily for a few weeks and start to see fuller brows, naturally.

A quick tip: you can also use this on your eyelashes.

You’re welcome!

I wish I’d read this before spending $200 on Rodan and Fields lash boost!

Would this work on brows that have been gone for years? I overplucked as a teen and have essentially given up on trying to regrow

I love experimenting with different looks and taking inspiration from my fave Instagram makeup accounts. You ll often find me trying to recreate a photo I have found on the gram for events or nights out! I do definitely have some staples in my kit that I know will never fail me, but then Sephora is constantly stocking new products, new brands – it would just be rude not to try them all, right ?
