A few weeks ago we brought you our first round up of the amazing Aussie designers we've been lucky enough to profile and, more importantly, dig into their beauty cabinets. As promised, due to sheer volume of home-grown sartorial gems, here is our round two. From red-carpet worthy dresses to beachy pieces to streetwear, we've got it all on our shores and their genius founders are all too happy to share the beauty products and practices they follow to keep them fresh while on-the-go (including a little manscaping)...

“I’m a very simple girl…

…I find something that I love then I use it.  I use Aesop body washhand wash and hand moisturiser. I also use Cetaphil. It’s super basic I get allergies from perfumes [in beauty products]. I’m also a total MAC girl, MAC everything.”

“I don’t do a sexy red lip…

I love a lip, but a dark, purple, plum. I’ve done pink, but not the really bright orange-y red shades. Because I don’t wear much jewellery, sometimes it just gives me that colour and definition, I think it’s just fun. I don’t have clothes on that are super sexy, [I prefer] kind of a minimal, organic [style] and I just find a strong lip gives a nice hot edge. I love Linda Rodin lipsticks – they’re beautiful. They’re very bright though. There’s kind of a thing with undone hair and lip that’s not, ‘I just came off the beach’.”

“I got a lesson from MAC and everything they said not to do was what I was doing!

[They said] that’s not how you do contouring! I was like, “Really?” They said what I was doing was a big big no-no: black eyeliner under your eyes, I always do that. I love a brow gel and mascara – they’re my basics, I don’t really do eye shadows. The This Works Skin Deep Dry Leg Oil is really good for legs; [when] your legs are a bit gross after winter, you just put it on and it’s goodbye scaly skin.”

“I’m obsessed with fragrance.

I love Tom Ford fragrance. Dan and I try and share because some of the fragrances are really good for boys and girls. I love the Santal and Dan gets the normal Tom Ford Noir. We also share the Byredo, and I like the Neroli and Rose by Le Labo. I love candles, too – I have them burning constantly. I love this Byredo Burning Rose I got recently.”

“Being a mum, I’m so time poor – for me it’s not about having a full skincare ritual…

…but I do love luxurious creams. I love La Mer Moisturizing Cream. I think it’s better to use the best of what’s out there, giving yourself that little bit of luxury, than using products that aren’t as efficient. Or that don’t make you feel great. I was on a plane recently and I had a little La Mer tub, it felt so luxurious on a long trip. I’m really fanatical about taking my makeup off. My grandmother was into that sort of stuff, she taught me the importance of this. But I’m more girly girl than her when it comes to really loving the products. I’m a big fan of Aesop body washes and balms, too.”

“I genuinely love makeup. I think more is more.

… I love the products, I love the process of putting it on. I love learning how to do contouring and just have that kind of makeup most days. It’s fun for me. The first product I ever bought was a hideous foundation… I felt so grown up buying it, but it was entirely the wrong shade for me. Awful. But, now I have a much better idea about what suits me. I use MAC Waterproof foundation, and am always doing my contouring with a highlighter, and have all the different kinds of makeup brushes. My favourite lipstick is Velvet Teddy by MAC, it’s a velvety pink – I actually have a top selling right now in a similar colour.”

GEORGINA AUSTIN, CABLE MELBOURNE

“My beauty routine is very nighttime based.

I just have more time and my skin responds better. PM is my revive opportunity! At night – I use the Garner Micellar Water to remove make up. And then I can’t go past James Vivian, they sell amazing things!. I use the SkinMedica Lytera Brightening Complex, Results Rx A Solution Vitamin A and Triple AHA Serum. I also am obsessed with Aspect Super Moisturising Complex (S.M.C). In the morning I just moisturise and make up, very straight forward. I always carry Kora Rosehip oilAesop Deodorant and organic hand cream during travel so I can feel human and ‘fresh’ even on the longest of flights.”

“My favourite product is the Stila 12 Colour Eyeshadow Palette

I add a smoky eye for PM and it’s the best. As for the day I’m definitely a minimalist. I always start with Stila Illuminating Foundation, it’s light and the perfect base for my skin. Nars Laguna Bronzer is next for an all over glow and then I add Nars Shimmer Stick to my cheeks. I also always have my Chanel lipstick compact handy. I prefer it over one lipstick given I often have to move from day to night- adding a fresh lip colour is my go too. I can’t be without Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Lipbalm as well. A spritz of Serge Lutens – L’Eau de Paille and I’m ready to go.”

“Day to day I like to keep it fresh and simple

I truly believe that beauty starts from within. A beautiful soul always shines brighter than anything else. If ones soul is nourished, it brings perspective to outward beauty and what matters. I start with a clean face using Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gelfollowed by a layer of my Chantecaille Flower Harmonizing Cream to hydrate my face, particularly in the dry winter months. I’ll then apply my ever-faithful MAC Face and Body Foundation. It’s quite sheer and light on the skin, perfect for everyday wear.”

“Filling in my eyebrows seems to change everything

I use MAC Eyebrow Pencil in brown, then for my eyes, I lightly apply my MAC Black Pencil Eyelineron the top lid followed by a MAC Pencil Brush to soften it. I use my black volumising mascara on my lashes. If I have an event or occasion, I’ll tend to put the focus on my eyes. I wish I was in the habit of using an eyelash curler but it feels like one step too many in my day-to-day routine. To finish, my MAC Crème Blush on the cheekbones makes all the difference. My husband thinks I look my best without any makeup at all – I’m not so sure I agree!”

“My makeup philosophy is natural tones with a focus on radiance and luminosity. These items are my everyday basics:

My days are often long and busy so Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer is a must, followed by a light coverage of Nars Sheer Glow in Punjab, and concealer. I’m obsessed with the smell of the Too Faced Bronzing Powder. I love blush, and for that healthy flushed look I use Nars OrgasmThe Hourglass Limited Edition Ambient Lighting Edit Surreal Light is phenomenal and provides the perfect highlight for day or a night out. I team this look with Chantecaille Lip Stick in Agave. Focus on creating a healthy glow and working with your natural features, for me that means blush and highlighter. Soft brown tones on the eyes are key for a natural look.”

“I use Perricone MD religiously.

My daily routine consists of cleansing my skin with Perricone MD Hypoallergic Gentle Cleanser and locking in moisture with their Hypoallergenic Nourishing Moisturiser, twice a day. I love that the cleanser is fragrance-free and thoroughly removes my make up. The moisturiser just glides across the skin and is the perfect finishing touch. I’ve tried and tested other products but nothing comes close.”

BRIDGET:

“I keep my face routine really simple.

I use Kiehl’s CleanserToner and Moisturiser. Then I put the Nars Pressed Powder on my face to matte things down and then the Nars Laguna for a bit of bronze. I love the Hourglass brushes, I use them for my tinted moisturiser, pressed powder and bronzer. For eyes, I’m a big fan of the By Terry products to get rid of the dark shadows and then their mascara as well.”

NICK:

“I don’t do heaps [in terms of grooming].

Probably Kiehl’s Ultra Facial and that’s about it for me. Every now and again I put product in my hair, I don’t even know what it’s called! I’m pretty low maintenance. I actually go to the barber, a fairly traditional one, I basically say, ‘tidy it up’ haha! I’ve always used the Issey Miyake Summer fragrance, but I’m having trouble finding it these days, it’s the one in the flat bottle, I don’t know whether it’s a limited edition but I generally only find it when I travel. Gascoigne and King supply our stores so they always send us the new candles to test, we’re not into incense or smoke so it’s a nice sort of way to have essential oil.”

KARLA:

“I believe you should age gracefully but do what’s in your power to slow the process.

So, I use Kiehl’s Ultra Facial CreamPowerful Strength Line Reducing Concentrate & Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution. At night I use Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair. When it comes to makeup, I can’t go past Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser for day and Giorgio Armani Foundation for night. I religiously use cold pressed sesame oil all over (trust me, your skin will never feel softer!).”

CANDICE:

“I like and appreciate everything about the beauty process.

I work with amazing hair and makeup artists who have beautiful recipes for different looks. I loathe that I cannot commit enough time to focusing on my own beauty routine as I often have a two-year-old running around the house with an arm full of my brushes and creams.

I shower and wash my face with Go-To Properly Clean Cleanser

… and moisturise with the Melissa Day Cream from Dr Hauschka. I also use Palmers Coconut Oil. I use Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, a non fancy but faithful blush I can’t remember the name of, ModelCo Mascara and, depending on how I am feeling, a matte shade of lipstick in either red or soft pink.”
