Whether you’re a bona fide gym bunny, or tend to clock up a less than spectacular step count on your Health app daily, making time to fit in exercise right now can only be good for you. Besides the myriad of physical health benefits, working out helps boost mood and improve general health generally – which is much needed, given the current constant deluge of bad news and the loneliness that comes with social distancing. Thankfully, fitness experts have turned to Instagram to share their knowhow with the world and have catered to seemingly everyone, no matter your exercise predilection or fitness level. Here, our edit of the videos we’re working out to at the moment.
If You’re A Yoga Lover
Founder of wellness protocol Body By Finch (as well as supplements range, Kissed Earth, which we interviewed her about here), Rachael Finch knows her stuff when it comes to health. Rachael shared her 15 minute yoga flow (designed to be repeated to meet your daily 30 minute exercise target) to her legions of followers and it’s a beauty – it’ll get your heart pumping, while still being gentle and soothing – exactly what’s needed in these crazy times.

Hope you enjoy moving your body mindfully to this angels. It’s designed to be played twice through, so when you finish the sequence just press play again. I’d also love you to end in shavasana - corpse pose - laying on your back and letting go of all thoughts. Let me know how you went in the comments after you finish. 🙏🏻
If You Like Your Workouts Dance-Inspired
Dancing has the happy advantage of being both fun and technically counting as a workout (win, win, win), so if you like to exercise while pretending you’re not actually exercising, this dance-inspired cardio session from American trainer Aubre Winters would be perfect for you. It’s super fun – and effective.

If You’re Looking For A Supermodel-Approved Session
Kiwi supermodel and Victoria Secret alumnae Georgia Fowler ( whose gorgeous sister Kate we recently interviewed) shared the actual lower-body workout that she swears by (!!!) to look as good as she does. Her 12 minute video is designed to be repeated three times, and while it’s certainly not for the faint of heart, it’ll help you look and feel runway ready. Watch and repeat.

If You’re Looking For A Good Stretch
A good stretching session is perfect for supplementing your existing workout roster, or to ease you back into exercising if you’re a little rusty. UK trainer Zanna van Dijk shares the stretching routine she swears by to start the day feeling loosened up and relaxed (it’s also a fab little routine to tack onto the back of another workout to help cool down).

If Your Pets Want To Get Involved Too
If you’ve ever tried exercising at home with a pet, you’re probably had a few incidents of being pawed for attention by your pup while perfecting your Downward Facing Dog, or having your cat jeopardise your pushups by lying down in the middle of your yoga mat. Well, PT Sohee Lee has devised the perfect pet-friendly workout routine: should appropriately-sized pugs or chihuahuas not be available, may I suggest you swap in kettlebells or weights as needed.

!If Your Pets Want To Get Involved Too
Looking for a workout to do at home? I’ve gotchu covered. 🤗
All you need for this is a willing pet participant. Volunteering here today are my two puppers, @ollieandjellie. 🐶🐶
Try the below full body session, repeating each exercise for three sets each. For any superset (denoted as A1 A2, etc.), you are to complete the first exercise, rest just long enough to catch your breath, then complete the second exercise, rest for roughly 2 minutes, and then go back to the first exercise. The reps you want to perform are up to your ability and the load of your pet, but I would recommend somewhere between 8-15 reps for most exercises.
A1. Pug reverse lunge
A2. Bent over pug row
B1. Pug thrust
B2. Overhead pug press
C. B-stance pug good morning
D1. Pug curl
D2. Overhead chihuahua extension
E. Chihuahua twist
Of course, you can always grab a lighter pet if needed (such as when I swap out Ollie for Jellie towards the end). You get bonus points for snuggles in between sets. 🤩
If you don’t have a pet, you can try inanimate objects such as a sack of rice or potatoes.
Remember that proper technique is always your first priority.
Be safe and have fun! 👊
