How To Remove Makeup with Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is one of the most versatile health and beauty products around... It’s the darling of the nutrition world (an easy to digest source of fatty acids that doesn’t change form when you heat it), is super economical (a giant tub is dirt cheap) and it smells like Fiji. With a multitude of beauty uses, from moisturizing the body to smoothing haywire hair, coconut oil also makes a kick-ass cleanser, according to Margaret Zhang. “Whenever I’m wearing makeup, I’ll use coconut oil to remove it, because then you don’t have to worry about moisturizing afterwards, and you go straight to bed. It’s so good for your skin and it smells good.” Here’s how she does it…

Step 1 - Scoop a small handful of coconut oil out of the jar. Usually it will be solid, unless it is a hot day.

Step 2 - Turn it into a liquid by rubbing it gently between your palms.

Step 3 - Smear it all over a dry face. Massage it into your eyes if you've got thick eye makeup on, "and let it sit for a second so everything dissolves," adds Margaret.

Step 4 - Next, remove it – and your makeup. “Just grab a pad and wipe everything off,” she says.
