What happens when you have a folder full of surreal, snowy AI portraits too cute to delete? You write a story around them. These images were created using Glam AI — a creative experiment that sparked this frosted, whimsical feature. As a result, I decided to pair them with products that capture the luxe furs, alpine air, and cosy textures of a winter getaway, all while keeping skin nourished and radiant through the season.

The fantasy? Me, glowing in the snow, swaddled in glamour. The reality? Cold, dry skin that needs beauty rituals to truly deliver. During my recent ski trip to Japan reminded me how important it is to winter-proof both skin and soul. Between blizzards and onsens, I discovered a silky shea butter that became my daily rescue. Back home, I recreated the vibe with smoky scents, buttery textures, and forest-inspired self-care.

Cloak Your Body in the Toastiest Winter Beauty Rituals

An alpine walk for your bathtub:

Weleda Pine Reviving Bath Milk

Like stepping into a crisp mountain forest without leaving your bathroom. The invigorating pine scent instantly clears the head, while the silky bath milk leaves skin feeling soft and refreshed. I alternate between this and their Arnica Muscle Soak for post-ski recovery or after a long, cold day.

Rich as après-ski hot chocolate:

Tronque Rich As Croesus Firming Butter Cream

Imagine sinking into cashmere, but for your skin. This soufflé-textured cream is packed with biotech ceramides, Mamaku extract, Atlantic kelp, and skin-loving shea and cacao butters. It melts in luxuriously, leaving limbs supple and cocooned in a subtle, expensive-smelling scent.

Luxury layering for your skin:

Nécessaire The Body Lotion Olibanum
A sleek, peptide-packed lotion that firms and hydrates while feeling impossibly light. The olibanum scent — with fig leaf, vanilla, and cassis bud — layers beautifully under perfume, making it the perfect everyday moisturiser when you want hydration and a whisper of fragrance.

Bring the Scent of Winter Beauty Rituals Indoors

Smoky fireplace in a bottle:

Maison Margiela By The Fireplace Diffuser
Chestnut, smoky woods, and a touch of burnt sugar — this diffuser turns your home into a ski lodge. The warm, nostalgic aroma lingers gently in the air, adding instant comfort whether you’re in the bath or curled up with a book.

Dreamlike forest flicker:

Diptyque La Forêt Rêve Candle
Part fragrance, part art piece. Ylang-ylang, jasmine, and vanilla combine to create a glowing floral warmth that feels like being in a sunlit greenhouse in the snow. The faceted, refillable glass vessel makes it as beautiful unlit as it is flickering.

Protect Your Skin with Cold Weather Beauty Rituals

Science-backed luxury:

Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream
This is the big guns of winter skin. A powerhouse moisturiser for winter-weary skin. Powered by TFC8®, it helps regenerate, deeply hydrate, and restore radiance overnight. I layer it over oil after a day in the cold and wake up with skin that looks like it’s had a week at a spa.

Daily mineral SPF:

Synergie UberZinc SPF 15
When I’m not on the slopes or planning to be outside a lot in winter I opt for a non-greasy mineral SPF moisturiser. Synergie Uberzinc protects, calms, and layers beautifully under makeup. For actual skiing, I prefer a high-SPF chemical sunscreen like La Roche-Posay Anthelios Ultra-Light Fluid SPF 50+, topped up with a zinc stick.

High-altitude hero:

La Roche-Posay Anthelios Invisible Fluid SPF 50+

For high-altitude conditions (or high-stakes city days), this cult French pharmacy SPF is a no-brainer. The ultra-light, almost watery texture glides on like silk and sets invisibly — no ghostly cast, no greasy film, no clogged pores. It’s my go-to base layer on the slopes, because it actually stays put (even under a helmet or through a snowball fight), and layers beautifully under makeup or a tinted zinc stick for extra coverage. Dermatologist-developed and fragrance-free, it’s gentle enough for sensitive skin, yet powerful enough to shield against UVA/UVB and environmental aggressors. Ski trip or school run — it’s your daily dose of smart sun defence.

Pocket-Sized Winter Beauty Rituals for the Slopes

Snow-day essential:

Lanostick Original Lip Balm
Smooth like butter, this balm is the ultimate snow-day essential. Rich with lanolin and vitamin E, this balm glides on thick, hugs your lips, and locks in moisture even in icy winds. I keep one in every coat pocket so I’m never caught unprotected.

Tinted zinc shield:

People4Ocean Tinted Zinc Stick SPF 50+
This all-natural zinc stick is tinted, reef-safe, and designed for sensitive spots like cheekbones, ears and noses. It’s a must-have on the slopes and stays put even when you sweat. Plus, the packaging is sustainable and the formula is safe for babies over six months.

Hand & Heel Heroes for Winter Self-Care

Forest-scented luxury

Le Labo Hinoki Hand Lotion
Inspired by the hinoki forests of Japan, this lotion is grounding, warm, and quietly luxurious. Its silky texture sinks in quickly, making it perfect for desks, bedsides, and handbags.

Because cracked heels and cashmere don’t mix:

Margaret Dabbs Cracked Heel Balm
Formulated with oregano oil, manuka, and salicylic acid, this balm transforms rough heels overnight. I slather it on before bed, slip into socks, and wake to feet that feel pedicured.

Snowy Takeaway?

These AI images may be fantasy, but the winter beauty rituals are very real. Whether you’re ski-bound or staying cosy at home, winter is the perfect time to slow down, light a candle, and treat your body like a temple.
