Cheeky vlogger Samantha Ravndahl raves about this palette as one of her favourite cohesive shade range, perfect for creating smokey eyes with nice depth, that isn’t cake-y or too heavy. The palette creates a great mix of tones, varying in finish (from shimmer to matte), and has a beautiful addition of warm orange, pink, and burgundy shades. It’s also fade and crease resistant – perfect for night’s out when you want a bit more drama. Samantha‘s call: “If you haven’t picked it up, you should. It’s amazing.”
This concealer cannot get enough love from the online beauty community. So much so that beauty vlogger, Lauren Curtis (see the story we did with her in her early days here) was asked by fans to mix it up on the concealer front… This full coverage concealer (free of parabens and other common cosmetic nasties) is especially perfect for the under eye area (it doesn’t do that annoying thing of being fine if you’re straight-faced, but then creases right into under-eye lines the second you make a facial expression…). For this, it has a very loyal fan base that Lauren is only too happy to nurture. Her verdict: “[It’s] long wearing, crease-proof, great coverage, they give a luminous finish…I don’t know, I just love them!”
This foundation made the cut for a slightly different reason to the rest. Vlogger Katy DeGroot (aka LustreLux) is a true matte-finish devotee, and yet, excuse the pun, had glowing things to say about the ‘radiant finish’ product. And, if you too are a foundation fanatic you know that crossing over to a different finish from the one you love on your skin, is no flippant feat. But, she was keen to share the benefits of reaching for a more glow-y end result, especially for dry skin. “It’s air light, and that’s one of my favourite things about this foundation,” she points out. “I think that adds to the radiant finish. If you have dryer skin, I think this is really great. Just for the fact that it has a lightweight finish and a lightweight texture to it.” She does note though, that there aren’t as many deeper shades in the range as other foundation lines, and that the instructions suggest it is best applied with a beauty blender.
We’re actually not sure how we found the right mascara before the days of beauty websites, blogs and vlogs… They’re not easy (or, from memory of wandering through Priceline as a teen applying your entire face of makeup in the aisles, allowed) to test before purchase. But, nevertheless, now we do have all these great avenues to find reviews before we fork out our hard earned dollars to a lousy lash product. The L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise mascara is a sworn winner by vlogger Desi Perkins, who recently added it to her ‘favourite things’ list. And, going by her incredible lash line, she’s a pretty great point of reference. She says, “This has a formula that sticks to individual lash and almost adds girth to every single lash without making it overly clumpy. It’s more of a wet formula, but not too wet. I really, really like it.” And, if you don’t mind us saying, the pearly pinky cylinder it’s encased in is at least half the reason to purchase.
This gorgeous lip colour range has everything we can ask for in a liquid lipstick: creamy, long-wearing, and doesn’t dry your lips out. The vibrant colours are highly pigmented have a matte finish. Shannon Harris, aka Shaaanxo, praises the shade range and staying power of these products. She isn’t shy about her love affair with them, saying, “Every time I wear this, I’m always like, ‘why don’t I wear this all the time?’ They last all day, they stick on your lips. I don’t have all the shades, but it is my goal in life to get all of them.” We can’t highlight enough the ‘highly pigmented’ description of this lip colour… It’s the one to grab when you want your pout to really pack a punch, and it has some serious staying power (perfect for bold shades).
