Located in Perth’s stylish inner-city Subiaco, SKYN has been bringing beautiful, healthy skin to WA’s most in-the-know clientele for nearly two decades.

SKYN was founded by Catherine Lee; she knows skin. As well as being a qualified beauty therapist, she holds a Bachelor of Health Science (Dermal Therapies) and is a member of the Australian Society of Dermal Clinicians.

In 2004, she established SKYN and realized her dream of having her own space in which she could help clients achieve that elusive ‘healthy glow’.

Catherine’s philosophy is that, with the right care and treatment, healthy skin is achievable for everyone.

Treatments always utilize well-established dermal therapy techniques as well as the latest technological advancements in devices and skincare.

She also places a strong emphasis on educating clients about proper skin care practices to help them maintain results outside of the clinic.

“We begin each client’s SKYN journey with an in-depth consultation to assess their skin and their goals, and then design a bespoke treatment plan”, Catherine tells us.

The options available at the clinic are far-reaching, so it is key to have a trusted expert guide you as to which services will meet your needs.

At SKYN, these offerings include energy-based devices such as Erbium, IPL, and lasers (like CO2 and ND: Yag) for resurfacing and rejuvenation, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, PRP, and PDO threads, as well as cosmetic injectables including wrinkle relaxers, dermal fillers, and biostimulators.

In-salon skincare includes industry-beloved cosmeceutical brands ZO Skin Health, Cosmedix, and Mesoesthetic.

And out of all of those treatment options, what proves to be the most popular?

Catherine says, “Depending on the time of the year, laser resurfacing and rejuvenation give such fantastic results.

And of course, wrinkle relaxers are a year-round must-have for most SKYN clients”.

Of course, as with any beauty treatment space, it’s not just about the results; client experience matters too, whether it’s the aesthetics of the salon or a sweet treat or two!

SKYN’s design and fit-out were completed by Catherine’s “incredibly handy” partner, Matt.

Highlights of the finished space include artwork by Antonio Mora and, of all places, the bathroom (often the most neglected room in many salons).

As Catherine points out, “We have an amazing bathroom with a Tom Dixon light fitting, and it has become a real hub for clients taking post-treatment selfies!”

To start or end your treatment on the right note, take advantage of the clinic’s Nespresso coffee machine, Madame Flavour teas, San Pellegrino sparkling water, and personalized SKYN chocolate lips.

Given SKYN has been around since 2004, Catherine has seen many beauty fads come and go.

Her focus is on cutting-edge technologies and products, but always those backed by sound science and clinical results rather than the latest social media trends.

Catherine shares, “We are so proud to have many loyal clients who have been with us since the beginning.

We have a very high rate of client retention and referrals, which is a great testament to our team.

We are right there alongside each client on their skin journey and are as excited as they are to see the results we can achieve along the way.

We want each client at SKYN to feel their individual needs are being addressed with care and professionalism at every single appointment.”
