Anyone who has ever experienced fashion week knows that with the excitement of the new season ahead, the coveted show invites and A-list parties also comes very long hours and many sleepless nights. It’s also a time when you want to look your best, especially in the event that you’re caught off-guard by a rogue street style photographer. So, in anticipation of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia next week, four talented designers took five minutes out of their hectic schedules to share their fashion week survival tips with Beauticate. Read on for the inside word on how to do MBFWA in style (sleep not included).

During fashion week I can’t live without…
Ella Baché. To keep my skin looking fresh I use their Gommage Revealing Fruit Enzyme Exfoliant once a week and also the Fruit d’Eclat à la Tomate Bio Moisturiser every night. It’s a really beautiful, organic rich cream that makes skin appear super soft.
My backstage beauty essentials are…
Essie Nail Varnish in Sand Tropez, GHD Hair Heat Protectant Spray and my M.A.C. Matte Lipstick in Heroine.
I also have on hand…
My Apple iPhone, a (very) strong coffee, Dove Deodorant and a vile of Bach’s Original Flower Essence Rescue Remedy for when things get super stressful.
My secret to faking 8 hours of sleep is…
Ella Baché Moisturising Self Tan For Face. Even when I’m working on one hour’s sleep I look like I’ve just returned from a sunny vacation.
The fragrance I will be wearing backstage at my show is…
A combination of Florabotanica by Balenciaga and a spritz of my boyfriend’s Hermès cologne.

My backstage beauty essentials are…
M.A.C Zoom Lash Mascara and Lucas’ Papaw Ointment.
I also have on hand…
Apple iPhone and a needle and thread, always.

During fashion week I can’t live without…
SKII Facial Treatment Essence and Facial Treatment Mask – they’re miracle workers!
My backstage beauty essentials are…
I’m generally fairly low maintenance, but I’d be lost without Aesop Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm. It is so hydrating and smells heavenly.
I also have on hand…
My Apple iPhone and Life Factory glass water bottle.
My secret to faking 8 hours of sleep is…
My Vitamix. It’s honestly saving my life right now. My favourite breakfast smoothie consists of blended organic banana, apple and orange, some almonds, linseeds and ice. It’s the best way to start a long day, especially during fashion week.
The fragrance I will be wearing backstage at my show is…

Has anyone else tried that Ella Bache face self tanner? Heard good things about it. As good as the Lancome one do we think?
sigourney
It’s really good- it’s an olive based tan rather than golden so the result is super natural.
