The beloved Subiaco salon have created a chic outpost in the form of their new day spa in South Perth. In addition to their usual beautifying treatments (think brows, lashes, waxing, facials, and tans), the spa offers a suite of holistic body treatments from massages to infrared saunas and full body scrubs. Book in for a whole day of treatments to knock a few beauty to-dos off your list in one go, or opt for one of their beautiful wedding or pregnancy packages for some much-deserved pampering.
Tucked away in a serene pocket of Subiaco is Katarina Callegari, who offers a suite of beautifying treatments for brows, lashes, and lips (Dr Clara Hurst, co-founder of The Secret Skincare and owner of Blanc clinic, is a client). Her speciality, though, is cosmetic tattooing: trained by world leaders from her home country of Brazil, as well as industry innovators in Eastern Europe, her artistry for both lips and brows is natural, considered, and of the highest skill. If you’re not ready to undergo the needle, her signature brow treatment promises full and fluffy arches, while I highly rate her gorgeous lash lifts that allow me to pretty much leave the house sans makeup everyday.
While we love a beauty treatment as much as (probably more than, to be honest) the next person, sometimes slotting them all into an already overstuffed schedule can prove near impossible. Which is why the clever people behind Iconic Medispa have landed on such an ingenious model. Founded by dentist Dr Michael Chan, the space combines both a dental and cosmetic clinic in a beautiful and warm space: with its brocade wallpaper and eye-catching chandeliers, it’s unlike any dentist you’ve probably ever visited. Clients often can attend to their dental health needs before enjoying a cosmetic treatment in one of the adjacent rooms, all named after a European city.
Regularly cited as a Perth brow go-to, Alison Jade has carved a coveted niche shaping arches in Perth’s Cottesloe. The official makeup partner for Miss Universe Australia, pre-pandemic Alison could regularly be found backstage at fashion weeks around the world, so I was understandably keen to have her expert opinion on how to optimise my brows. Alison said I was an ideal candidate for her ‘Brow Lift’, a brow lamination treatment, as my brows are naturally quite long and unruly. Cue brushed-up yet groomed arches that would give Brooke Shields or Timothée Chalamet a run for their money.
