If ever we sought to emulate someone's morning routine, it's Rachael Finch. Perennially glowing, despite being a super busy mum-of-two and career woman (she has just launched her dance-inspired workout B.O.D - Body of Dance), there has to be some magic secret to her beauty regime, right? Well, maybe not magic... Although disciplined, all of Rachael's tips and tricks are entirely achievable, which is great news for all of us. So, here's her entire morning ritual... Get ready to glow.

WAKING UP:

What’s your bedroom vibe?

Our bedroom is made to feel very relaxing – made up of neutral tones in the furniture and bedding, I tend not to clutter the room with many items. I like waking with a fresh, clear mind.

Tell us about your sheets and bed?

I prefer white sheets because it feels crisp and fresh. We have a king bed because I like to stretch out and our bed sits low to the ground. I like the feeling of being closer to the earth floor when we sleep.

When do you wake up and how much sleep do you get?

This is different every day and the kids will usually determine when we get up, if I haven’t already left the house for work. Dominic usually wakes at 7 and Violet shortly after. I aim to get a MINIMUM of 8hrs every night. This is my sweet spot and where I function the best.

DAILY RITUALS:

Do you exercise in the morning?

The mornings are my favourite part of the day! I love to exercise first thing each day, either by taking the dog for a walk before the rest of the house wakes up, or with some dancing and whole body movement on the balcony. I find I have most energy in the AM so it makes sense for me to exercise at this time. This is also the best time to create and develop content for my online health and wellness program B.O.D (Body of Dance).

How do you mentally prep for the day?

Each morning workout begins with meditation and stretches to clear my mind and warm up the body. The crisp morning air and mindfulness mantras help me focus and set a path to help me achieve all of my goals for the day. It’s why I love to feature this in my B.O.D program as they are all things that I think help you achieve a healthy mind and body.

Do you select your outfit the night before or wing it in the morning?

If I’m training early I’ll lay it out the night before but if I’m not in a rush I get ready the day of.

IN THE SHOWER:

Soap or body wash? (Which one?)

Organic, irritant-free soap.

Do you wash your hair every day?

No, I wash it every 3-4 days. I like when it’s a little dirty as it’s easier to style and shape. I mix up my products so that my hair doesn’t get used to any one product. At the moment I am using a goats milk shampoo from Amcal and a conditioner by Christophe Robin.

What skincare and body products do you put on when you get out?

I like to mix up my skincare regime also. I change products depending on the season and current state of my skin (dehydrated, oily, etc). I always use a serum and moisturiser (I like Serum 7 day cream by Boots LaboratoriesDr Spiller Collagen Cream and Ultraceuticals hydrating serum) and on my days off work I’ll apply a little concealer, mascara and highlighter to the tops of my cheekbones.

BREAKFAST:

What do you usually eat?

Breakfast is my fave.  Long breakfasts with loved ones are a regular Sunday ritual in my house, especially if pancakes are involved! I love healthy toppings on mine, like berries and fruit. On a regular, super busy work day, my B.O.D Breakfast Smoothies are a time-saving treat. The super indulgent Peanut Butter & Hazelnut Breakfast Smoothie, with vanilla protein powder, keeps me feeling full right through until lunch!

Tea or coffee?

Coffee at day, tea at night. I love a bulletproof coffee to kick start my day, but when I need to relax and wind down, I drink hot herbal tea. I love peppermint or Camomile before bed.

Any supplements?

I take magnesium and a probiotic daily.

GAME FACE:

What are your daily must-have makeup essentials?

A good mascara, concealer, and highlighter. I try not to put too much on my face on my days off to let my skin breathe, but if I’m going out I’ll have some fun with a bold lip or dark eye.

A good hair day tip?

Get a good volumising powder or dry shampoo! They come to the rescue on any bad hair day. Spray or apply to the roots and use sparingly on the ends.

What time do you start work?

It’s different every day. If I’m working from home I usually start at 9 after my morning coffee or if I’m shooting I’m usually in the car travelling before the family wakes. Some days my work falls in the evening, so I am home late but get to spend the morning with the kids.

All of these fashion girls say that they only wash their hair a few times a week… Do you just leave your hair dirty after a workout and use dry shampoo?
