1. Kevin Murphy Fresh Hair, which is a dry shampoo that gives hair grit and texture, without being sticky. You get that lived-in look.
2. Shu Uemura Shampoo and Conditioners are really premium products and you can tell – they really focus on their R&D and are innovative with their ingredients. Since I’ve used them in the salon my work has improved and it literally walks out the door – people purchase time and time again.
3. GHD Electrical equipment, I believe all their hot tools are the best on the market. The best way to breathe new life into boring hair is being versatile and open to new looks. Or change up your part – it’s amazing what it can do to your face if you flip it to the opposite side. It gives instant height and life to your look.
Use a generous spritzing of Kevin Murphy Fresh.Hair dry shampoo as a styling product – not just instead of a way to skip the wash. It gives it a bit more lift and hairspray can be too sticky, which isn’t great in the humidity.
… is not being open to a change and getting caught in a hair rut. Consider even having a fringe or growing out a fringe. Try something new. It’s only hair, it grows back!
…the GHD Aura dryer. Amazing. It’s not as loud or heavy duty as the Parlux but I think it’s great at managing frizz and I feel like I have more control.
…healthy ends. Use conditioning masks – and always comb them through the hair instead of just using your fingers, this will ensure even distribution. You should do this with all your styling products, too. It makes such a difference.
…never fight with your hair. It is a losing battle, it will always win. Work with your hair, not against it. If you’ve got natural wave, embrace it! If you have curls try Shu Uemura Kaze Wave Sensual Curl Foam or Ample Angora for fine curls. It will help define the curls. The hair must be quite wet when you apply it then comb it through and mould your waves into place – this is like a “wet set” – you want hair to set naturally then when it’s dry, run your fingers through to aerate it.
… being amazing. And that I’m not a cookie cutter as a hairdresser, I like to break hair rules.

I am definitely guilty of this number one hair mistake.. So afraid to make any changes even though I know it’s just hair and will grow back

I always just use my fingers for conditioning masks – thanks for the tip!
