We all know how important beauty sleep is for cell regeneration, immune strengthening and general health, so I’m not going to harp on about that. But if you’ve ever had a newborn baby in the house, then you’ll also know how that the two things – sleep and babies - are practically mutually exclusive. As you guys know, I had baby Luella almost 6 months ago now, and at the time – in the midst of that sleepless hell – Damien and I filmed a little video, which we hoped might would help not just new mums, but anyone who comes into contact with babies. At the time, Damien became known around the house and Beauticate office as the Baby Whisperer – such was his knack with the “5 S’s of Settling”. Watch him work his magic on Lulu when she was just a few weeks old, and why not try your hand at these techniques next time you come across a hysterical bub?

Swaddling is my go-to! Will have to try the smaller vibrations instead of big swoops with the bub, thanks so much for this x

Wow this video could not have come at a better time! I’m due in three weeks and I’m sure all of these tips will certainly come in handy very soon. Thanks so much!

What an absolutely beautiful family you have!! This brings me back to when my kids were young, so precious!! I always found the quick shaking relaxed my baby (and worked out my arm muscles!)

Thank you! It’s such a special time- despite the lack of sleep!
