In a bid to maximise our glow factor we've busy road testing the latest and greatest highlighters and illuminators (tough job, but someone has to do it!)  From eye creams and moisturisers to primers and powders, these are the magic wands you need to own. Shine bright like a diamond with our pick of the eight most illuminating buys that promise to leave you with a lit-from-within glow.

Bobbi Brown Extra Illuminating Moisture Balm

Bobbi calls it her “dream cream” and after giving it a try for ourselves, we totally get it. Pumped full of lychee extract and caffeine (even your skin craves a coffee fix sometimes), it can be used either as a moisturizer or like a primer layering it on top of your moisturizer and under makeup. Best for dry or combination skins.

If you’ve never tried a Nars Multiple, make a beeline for your nearest Mecca Cosmetica store and snap one up, stat. This all-in-one cream stick is great for highlighting, and Nars’ newest shade, St Lucia, in its pretty rose golden hue is perfect for illuminating eyes, cheeks and lips.

Shiseido Glow Enhancing Primer

Shiseido’s new Glow Enhancing Primer hits shelves next month so be sure to put a note in your calendar.  When applied under foundation, it creates a plump and hydrated base for a glowing, natural-looking complexion, minus the artificial shine.

*Available 1 March 2015

Benefit Puff Off

Banish puffiness and brighten your eyes with Benefit’s new Puff Off under eye gel. We love the super cute iron-like, silver tip that not only makes the gel glide on easily, but also immediately cools skin upon contact.

La Prairie White Caviar Illuminating Moisturising Cream

The ultimate indulgence. As the newest offering from La Prairie’s decadent White Caviar skincare collection, this moisturiser promises to give you a brighter, firmer, more even complexion by boosting hydration levels and targeting pigmentation.  It will also look oh-so-pretty in your bathroom cabinet.

50mL / $575

*Available March 2015

If you want that fresh-faced glow, Ellis Faas Glow Up is the way to go.  An illuminating pressed powder that comes in three shades, it’s perfect for smoothing imperfections and setting makeup.  Ellis and her team have got the luminosity factor just right too (always a fine balance), so you won’t be left looking like a disco ball.

Jurlique Purely White Skin Brightening Night Cream

A new and even better version of Jurlique’s Purely White Skin Brightening Night Cream will be released this month. Infused with kakadu plum, which is very rich in vitamin C, this night cream is great for those wanting to reduce the appearance of pigmentation to reveal a brighter and more even complexion.

50mL / $79
*Available 16 February 2015

La Mer Awaken Eyes Illuminating Eye Gel

Your eyes will love La Mer’s Awaken Eyes Illuminating Eye Gel.  Made with mineralized algae, the lightweight formula cools, brightens and soothes even the most tired and puffy eyes. Beauty editor’s tip: keep it in the fridge to get that extra cooling effect upon application – perfect for the morning after a big night out.

15mL / $195

The nars multiple is so good. I usually use copacabana but definitely want to try this new one

That iron end of the benefit eye cream is such a cool idea

I got the shiseido primer, it’s really nice. I’ve always used a Nars illuminating one but I think I prefer the shiseido one now. Their concealer is also really good also

went into mecca the other day to try the elis faas powder. Its nice but I still think the nars laguna is better. I use the elis lipsticks though and they are really long wearing and do the best colours

I love her tip about keeping your eye gel in the fridge. I have to try that. does anyone else do this too?
