The building sits on the edge of Lake Gunyalup with the bush pressing in on every side. BODHI moved its Yallingup spa here and built something soft to look at, all curved walls and sage green, natural timber and light. Inside are five treatment rooms made for couples, a spa bath with jets and a lounge that opens onto a deck over the water. The facials use Sodashi, the Australian skincare line that has always understood restraint. You come for a massage and stay for the quiet. Tea and fresh fruit arrive without being asked. Then you sit on the deck and watch the water do nothing. That is rather the point.
