If you’ve missed the dermarolling and stamping movement that’s taken the skincare world by storm, then where on earth have you been? The idea of rolling or stamping your skin with tiny needles to create rejuvenating micro trauma and help products better penetrate has become de rigeur in dermal circles. It’s even filtered down to the masses with leading skincare brands launching their own home dermarollers alongside serums to encourage the practice at home. These tools come with their own set of caveats, however. The main concern being that, in the uneducated hand, the needles can cause much more damage than intended. According to many leading dermatologists, dermarollers can drag the skin and create uneven punctures. There’s also a risk of infection if they’re not done in sterile-enough conditions.

Enter Qure: a new Micro-Infusion system for home use that was inspired by clinical dermastamping procedures. The 3-month Micro-Infusion Facial System kit includes six single-use heads that have hollow 24K gold 0.5mm clinical-grade needles, making it a safer and more hygienic alternative to derma rolling. It also contains six individual use serums that you fill the heads up with, as you press the stamp into the skin, the serums are distributed into the skin. This helps active ingredients penetrate deep into the skin while stimulating collagen and elastin production. (And luckily I have a discount code for you! Use this link to purchase and it will apply a 10% discount for you)

Intrigued, I decided to try it before a beauty event I had coming up. You start by twisting open the chamber of the device and filling until it’s half full with one (1) ampule of serum, then you leave it upside down for 2 minutes while it travels into the needles. This is when you wash your face and hands to ensure it’s as sterile an experience as possible. Then you start stamping! You start from the centre of your face outwards, using a 50% overlap technique.

This will create a controlled wound healing response in the skin which in turn prompts your cells to begin collagen production. It also creates micro channels in the skin that help penetrate the skin barrier, helping the serums to penetrate more deeply. When you’re finished simply pat any leftover serum into the skin – all the way down to your neck. The result? Apparently it will lead to Improved elasticity, smoother fine lines, and diminished wrinkles. I think of it like a workout for your skin, encouraging it to rejuvenate and revitalize itself.

I found it quite prickly – particularly on the upper lip! But it doesn’t exactly hurt because the needles are finer than human hair. It’s slightly more intense than dermarolling but not nearly as ouchy as the in clinic procedures. Afterwards my skin was pink and pricked in places but it cleared up by morning and my skin was glowing. The glow increased as the day progressed and by day three I was admiring my complexion whenever I passed a mirror.

I love that you can choose between the Hydra-Soothing Serum with Beta Glucan and the Rejuvenating Serum which contains EGF – Epidermal Growth Factors – to plump lines and hydrate. By creating these pathways into the epidermis it enhances the absorption of powerful ingredients, accelerating their impact by up to 300% according to the brand. I’m hoping the boffins at Qure Skincare will bring out even more serums as this is such an exciting way to deliver ingredients deep into the layers of your skin.

I was so impressed with my results that I’ve ordered more and have started using the Qure Microinfusion System whenever I want to give my skin an added boost of glow, especially before events. It’s like a secret weapon for getting that coveted red-carpet-worthy skin, no need to visit the salon or clinic for a professional treatment. Which, in our time-poor reality is always a win!

I wasn’t as lucky as you . The liquid didn’t release so ended up with a red face for nothing

More of a question. I used the macro infusion. I turned my bottle upside down for three minutes. I started the process of putting it on my face and when I was finished, my bottle still had half in it did I do something wrong?

I had a very hard time getting the product to flow out of the needle head. So I rubbed the serum on my face and stamped a little more. Face is stinging, but I did just push needles into it. hopping subsides over night. and that the next needle head I try actually delivers the serum……….

Hey, Dana! I totally get your frustration—sometimes these devices can be a bit tricky. Rubbing the serum on first and then stamping sounds like a good way to make sure you’re getting the benefits. The stinging can be normal after using the needles, but it should calm down by morning. If the stinging persists or your skin feels extra sensitive, maybe give your skin a little break and try again later. Hopefully, the next needle head delivers the serum more smoothly. Let us know how it goes!

Does this work for men? We have wrinkles and tough and ruddy skin, or am I a lost cause at 68?

Hi Daniel, definitely! Skincare isn’t just for women, and treatments like microstamping can work wonders for men, too. It’s great for boosting collagen, which helps with wrinkles and improving overall skin texture. Men’s skin tends to be thicker, but that just means it might respond a bit differently – and that’s okay! You’re never a lost cause, no matter your age. Starting slow is key, and you could always check in with a skincare expert to find the best approach for your skin. Your skin deserves love at any age!
