Situated in a tranquil corner of the well-heeled Perth suburb of Cottesloe is Blanc, a discreet cosmetic clinic offering natural-looking and bespoke treatments to the city’s most demanding beauty lovers.

Tucked away from the glossy boutiques of Cottesloe’s main thoroughfare, Napoleon Street, the space is perfectly polished (it was designed by interior architect Sarah Coghlan from Within) and features chic furniture pieces from James Said and Mobilia in muted tones of pale grey and pink. Walls are adorned with ethereal paintings by local artist Francesca Gnagnarella, while the clinic’s floral displays are crafted by the very talented Natural Art Flowers. The clinic is scented with its own signature fragrance, blended by the nearby clean beauty destination, Heartwood.

Behind the clinic is the glamorous Dr Clara Hurst – educated at the prestigious King’s College London Medical and Dental School, she worked as a cosmetic injector in Harley Street, London’s most sought-after address for all things medical, before heading to Australian shores and setting up shop.

I arrive at Blanc to experience their Signature Facial some two weeks before my wedding for a much-needed complexion pep, the stress-induced insomnia having unfortunately taken a toll on the bridal radiance I was aiming for. My therapist, Gemma, ushers me into a peaceful treatment room with a blush-hued sink kitted out with Aesop handwashes – these subtle touches make for a chic and very welcoming space.

From the moment the facial begins, it’s evident that Blanc are serious about making their treatments truly bespoke to each client’s skincare needs – Gemma meticulously assesses my skin condition before selecting just the right cleansers to prep my skin and concocting the perfect peel for me. Throughout the many skin-beautifying steps in the treatment – which boasts facial steaming, electrical muscle stimulation and a 3D nano crystal mask – I enjoy a deep massage not only to my face and décolleté, but to my arms and legs as well. I spend a blissful 90 minutes slipping in and out of sleep while Gemma coaxes my skin into submission. At the end of the treatment, she places me under an LED light for some serious skin brightening, before applying a bespoke selection of products to maximise that coveted after facial glow.

Beyond luxurious facials, Blanc provide a suite of beautifying treatments – their cosmetic injectables are particularly sought-after, thanks to the clinic’s signature subtle and natural looking results. The clinic also provides a host of cutting-edge dermal therapies, with a range of rejuvenating laser and peel treatments on offer, as well as the skin-tightening Accor Plasma Pen (they’re the only clinic in WA where the treatment is available) – plus waxing and eyelash tinting to round out the beautification offerings.

I leave the clinic and my skin looks – and feels – much better than it has in a while. It’s hydrated and illuminated, cleverly masking the stress and insomnia of the preceding weeks. I’m itching at the chance to return to Blanc to sample more of the treatments that have quickly made them a local beauty lovers go-to – but am content to savour my much-appreciated pre-wedding glow in the meantime.
